Twyla Tharp in her book , “The Creative Habit”, talks about “ruts”. Feeling as though I was in one myself, I booked a flight and headed out of town for a few days. More blogging about that trip later.

I am such a people watcher. When in large crowds, such as an airport, I often find myself wondering “what do all of these people do?” Why are their so many travelers? Every flight is totally full. I find myself wanting to get a pad and pencil out and start stopping people and just asking them what they do for a living and where are they going?  Some people stand out more than others and really catch my eye. Such as the man standing in front of me waiting to board the plane. He was tall, thin, long hair and was wearing glasses. His clothes were “unusual”. He looked a little “hippyish”. Upon closer examination, (he was standing in front of me), his clothes appeared to be very nice, just a little different. He had a satchel or man bag. There was writing on it. Uhm, must get closer look and read. Something like, happiness is in the hole. What? Then I see some more writing on a garment, “Voodoo Donuts”. Okay, I am a donut obsessed woman! Is this a real donut company? Voodoo? I am confused. He has been talking with a man the whole time he has been in line. Are they traveling together? Should I just interrupt and ask what he really does? About that time the girl behind me jumps in front of me and ask the two guys if she can take a picture. She says, Voodoo Donuts, I love your stuff! They say sure and she snaps a pic of the three of them. They act as if they are use to people wanting a picture. We are now boarding the plane.  Should I say something, get a picture? I know, I will sit with them. Well, I lost my nerve!

A quick google search shows Voodoo Donuts are very popular. They have had an extreme amount of press coverage, like unbelievable coverage, for donuts! When you read their story they knew nothing about making donuts when they started. And now they have several locations including Denver, which is where we are headed. So now I know what they do for a living and why they are traveling!  Yea me! Donuts, could this be my future? Time will tell!  But, now I must get hold of one of those donuts!
